Default quick way to enlarge mortices in fence posts

flip flip flip!

Just got back from buying picket fencing elements to do front garden.
Company now shut for bank holiday. The posts were machine morticed for
rails but I now realise the holes cut are too small by 22mm one way
and 18mm the other.

What's the easiest way of making them correct size now? chisel and
hammer? or what???

What sort of rails? If you are using arris rails (triangular cross
section), the ends of the rails are usually tapered to fit the mortice.

hammer? or what???

What size are they now?

chisel & hammer, mortice jobbie, or saw the other bit to fit. But...
are you sure you've got this right?

Cant rails not Arris - Rail end size 87mm x 38mm.... mortice hole size
65mm x 20mm.
I thought the idea was they just slotted in?

Cant rails are surface fixed to the posts, arris rails fit between posts &
have the ends tapered to fit the mortice.
