Capping a flue.
A friend has just had an old gas boiler removed from his kitchen. There is
now a chimney with a cowl that is no longer used. The lower end has the remains of an asbestos flue which will need trimming back to the ceiling level - or removing. What is the advice about the flue - 1. Leave it and just cover the lower end? 2. Remove cowl and cap the flue - fit a vent in the side of chimney? 3. Any other suggestions? |
