Roof tile "edge clamps" ?
Big gust the other night lifted the edge tiles from a section of our
roof. The mortar looks original so really needs re-doing but is there anything that can be used to somehow clamp the tiles to the underside of the edge of the roof? Our next door neighbour has lead flashing folded down over the tiles presumably to stop this problem. (his is the only house out of the surrounding 6 or 7 that shows no signs of tile lifting. can't find anything along the lines of what I'm after, but there must be something out there. Cheers Pete |

Cheers Pete There are verge clips, but theses are only suitable for concrete interlocking tiles and are made in different sizes to suite different patterns of tile. Redland, Marley and Sandtoft tile manufactures all have them. You will have to order them from a roofing suppliers as a builders merchants wouldn't even know about them and if they did they would even give you the wrong type. You will have to know the brand and name of the tile. To fit them you have to take off the end ridge and tiles. Nail the clips to each batten at the correct overhang. Re bed the verge, relay the tiles and pull the clip over two tiles. Then re point the verge and re bed the end ridge. There you are, dead simple. |

Not much chance of finding out which ones I need for the tiles I have I suppose. I'll try and get a picture on-line to assist Pete |
