Default Whats occurring?

I appear to have posted a load of religious ****e in response to the Box
Extender thread, as does grumpyat@

Andy Burns seems to have posted the same ****e in response to the
Polystyrene thread.

It wasn't me & obviously it wasn't grumpy or Andy.

WTF is going on - and how do I get to hit whoever is doing it?

Someone is sporging - IE using yours and others' names to post religous
claptrap, they are in Edinburgh and are Virgin customers...tha is, the
machine is - it could be a zombie.
Ignore it - if it becomes a problem it will get reported and VM will pull
the plug.

Interestingly Eclipse Internet seem to be filtering it out of my news

by some filtration system.

I've reported it to Virgin, but I'd much prefer kicking the sh*t out of
whoever it is.

Another use for a Fubar.

I happened to look at the Thunderbird support forum the other day - from
what I understood there is a series of problems. Until A is fixed they
can't fix B. Then C. Then they will be able to make the cross-post
filtering work (again?). Said wait for Thunderbird 3...

Not good news. I used to use (and prefer) xnews but had problems I
couldn't see how to solve. That had excellent cross-post filtering. It
does not seem to be actively maintained these days...

Unfortunately the price for non-Demon users has just rocketed to

AFAIK there's no free trial version.

Google for NewsProxy - it's got fully configurable filters you can set
up to pre-filter crap, including x-posts, headers, etc.
