Default Windsor chair restoration?

I have a very nice antique Windsor chair,
but with broken splat underneath.
I'm looking for a specialist in these chairs to repair it,
and would welcome any suggestions.

I asked once before, and was told
that there was a well-known expert in Northern Ireland
(someone in Ireland, north or south, would be most convenient)
but despite a long search I have been unable
to locate this man.

Any advice gratefully received.
