sealant for shower face plate
The taps in my shower have an oval face plate around them. To prevent
water getting behind it, there is a line of black high-density foam (about 8mm thick). I think the idea is that it should sit proud of the rim so that when the faceplate is screwed in place it gets compressed and makes a seal. Over time it has lost some of its thickness and started to let water in (which makes its way via a light fitting into the kitchen below). Anyone know where I can get this sort of foam tape, or suggest an alternative? I don't really want to use silicone as I might need to remove the faceplate and redoing silicone is a right pain. One fairly perfect seal. Oherwise see if you can find some foam selaing strip as used for draughtproofing. THanks, John |
