No contact information (address, phone number or email) whatsoever on that
site and the spammer is apparently posting from a gmail address - very
dodgy!

The site appears to be templated - see the Privacy Notice.

Caveat Emptor.

And the site is a blatant copy of the Screwfix site complete with product
hierarchies, product codes, prices!

Methinks a scam is in progress.

This would appear to be some kind of harvesting con trick. There is no
evidence of a real company here.

for example

Customer Services

Customer services are available at each of our Trade Counters.

Price Match Hotline 0800 xxx xxxx (see times below), Fax 0800 xxx xxxx (24 Hrs)

Yep, And they appear to have lifted the T&C from another site. They have
removed most references, xxx-ed the 08000 contact numbers, but left in
an email address for the other company toolsdirectonline.com

... and finally on checkout it leads to 2co.com - a credit card processing firm.

Not to mention illegal. Any online retailer must give their full name and
address somewhere on the site.

Seems strange to me !.

I can't seem to find a product that was added to the catalog before last
week, yet at the lower right-hand -side of the screen it says:

"577xxx requests since Monday 05 March, 2007"

Mmmmm.....

LOL.
Indeed it has. I have been playing around with such a package which has
yet to be completed.

Haven't removed the osCommerce bits yet but the similarities are
obvious. - http://www.discount-treadmills.co.uk

Except we do have a valid phone number listed.

Does look that way.
They now seem to have morphed into a mobile ringtones site.
I wonder what happens if you ordered a circular saw?
Perhaps you'll get a ringtone of it instead;-)
