Default siemens dishwasher programmer problems?

Hi,

I have a Siemens dishwasher, similar to a SE26T551GB, but the slightly older model (about 3 years old).

When a normal programme is selected the machine seems to run through the cycle, but just keeps going. When the door is opened the machine has water, and is washing and the display show 1 minute left (but by the last minute of the cycle the water should have gone), and the machine will stick on 1 minute for ever...

When the rinse cycle is selected the machine will empty and cycle perfectly.

Is this a common programmer or sensor fault ?

How do you get into one of these machines to work on it, i can't seem to get to any of the workings other than the programmer...

Any help much appreciated.

regards,

AbingdonBoy.
