Stainless steel sheet onto tiles
Looking for the best adhesive to put a 1.2sqM stainless steel sheet onto
tiles It is a bit ackward to get into place so would need a few minutes to play with the position, My thoughts were silicon, would leave plenty of time to move but may come away from the tiles or Grab type adhesives, would they leave enough time to move the sheet around? any thoughts gratefully recieved! Silicon is a bad choice, because it is a hard, brittle element. Silicone is a great choice, and won't come away from the tiles once cured. Grab adhesives are also fine for this, but some of them don't squish enough, so the steel will sit 1-2mm out from the tiles. Silicone squishes better, you can easily get the gap down to 0.25mm or so. -- Grunff |

Des No (more) nails or the like. That's what we use in industrial kitchens to hold 8' x 4' sheets of 1mm stainless to the wall, not had a problem with it. The grip types, pinkgrip etc. never worked well for us because of the large areas involved and the grip going off before all the adhesive was applied but you might be ok Also as TNP says, car body filler can also work surprisingly well on smaller areas like you are doing. make sure you scuff the stuck side of the SS sheet to get best adhesion. |
