Default Torus skirting

how do YOU cut it when doing the inside profiling method?

Do you cut it straight then use a coping saw?

This way you will still need to profile it except the half moon profile
cut...

Before cutting the piece to size, mark a straight line down the skirting to
the correct lenght you need.
Now find the center of the halfmoon shape and mark it with a centre punch
and using an auger wood bit of the same size of the halfmoon drill all the
way through, then cut down the line...BINGO! no need to cut out the profile
as its already there and a perfect fit to butt up to the other skirting
providing your coping is good for the two pieces ie the stub above the
halfmoon and the curled lip below the halfmoon.

And we all know what happens there?

12 months on and the stuff starts to swell and contract leaving cracks in
the paintwork in the corners

only if you use crap timber in the wrong manner. use MDF and
there's no problem with shrinkage. anyway, shouldn't you have
been cut off by now ? are you using /coal/ powered internet ?

I don't think he'd make a living with that method as he'd take about an
hour for every inside mitre.

Cut an 8 inch long short end at both ends at 45 degrees and follow the
outline with a compass saw. I can do it with a Sandvik. That will give
you a profile for both ends.

Us a bevel on the floor against the piece it will butt up to, to get
the angle of the perp. That will give you a line to put the profile to,
then mark out the outline. Undercut the angle to make the profile face
pinch home when fixing and glue the joins.

5 minutes apiece.
