Have you pulled it out and had a look to see where it's coming from?

Failing that, don't worry about the guarantee only being a year, the
implied guarantee on something like a fridge should see you well past a
year.http://www.dti.gov.uk/consumers/Fact...page24700.html

Yeah, pulled it out but there was nothing underneath - will need to
have a better look under it. I thought maybe it was something to do
with the gas.

Damn - checked my receipt. It was feb/04 i purchased it..ahh how time
passes... am I still within my rights to get it repaired by them ?

Cheers

Joe

Your legal redress is against the supplier, not the manufacturer.
Of course, the manufacturer might decide to sort it out, guarantee
or not, so it might still be worth starting with them.

Crud in the auto defrost mechanism ?

I think you will find that you have rights above and beyond the 12 month
warranty - that it should be fit for purpose and you should expect a
reasonable lifetime out of it

It has been extensively debated here in the past, search the archives
and maybe for example
