Default Tiling: Adhesive & grout recomendations please

It's hard enough choosing tiles from the myriad available, but what about
the adhesives, tools, etc?
What's the best waterproof tile adhesive to go for? Grout? Adhesive for
wooden floors? Tiling tools? Where's best to get them from? Topps Tiles
seems good for tiles, but do they make their profits from all the associated
sundries? Some of their tools look pricey.

I'm prepared to pay for quality as I'm not planning on moving for a very
long time and I don't want the tiles falling off after 20 years like my
neighbour's.

TIA

Mark

Don't be daft what associated tools? A plastic spreader and a bath
sponge?

Or do you mean a spirit level and a diamond table saw? What exactly are
you setting up?

A proper metal toothed trowel is much much better than a little plastic
cpreader, so much easier to use.

A tile cutter of some sort?

Actually a electric tile cutter is great for tiling if you are going to
have many fiddly cuts to do.

For tiling on wooden floors use a specialist 2 part adhesive and a fully
flexible grout.

Ardex, for example, or I used for all my floors the BISCEM range, which
seem a better price (at least in quantity)
When tiling on wood the 2 part adhesives include a crumb rubber material and
makes it cope with movement ... mine also had underfloor heating so movement
more than normal.
