Default re replacing electric water heater filament

Wykes stock all the parts,( including spanner). And are quite cheap.
You may need to replace thermostat as well-just a bar, usually, which
slides inside heating element fitting.
Easy job-Hardest part removing element, as they usually take some
unscrewing!
If you can, get two of the giant ring spanners, to apply equal
pressure-you don't want to tear the tank.
Use directly applied heat, then cool down suddenly to break stubborn
seal.
Take your time-it will suddenly unscrew!

You are less likely to rupture the tank if it contains water. Unfortunately,
the consequences of rupturing the tank are then higher!
