Boiler Location Legistation/Guidelines
I went to B&Q yesterday for a kitchen design with one of their
specialists. I wanted our new boiler hidden in a wall unit next to another tall unit which was going to house an eye level oven. However, the lady said I wasn't allowed to do this due to regulations. The boiler had to be situated away from the oven. This kind of messes up my kitchen arrangement and means that the boiler will be situated in the corner as I now have to keep it away from my gas hob/extractor. I can understand from a common sense point of view that certain items shouldn't be located together (like a stand alone fridge next to a built in oven). Are you guys aware of any regulations or guidelines to do with boiler locations? Thanks |

Some boilers can go in wall cupboards and some can't, and others only with additional ventilation. My guess is that it's simply safer for them to say "can't". -- Ed Sirett - Property maintainer and registered gas fitter. I'll go back to plan A then! |
