Default leaking lead water mains pipe problem

Hi,
my father's house has a leaking lead inlet water mains pipe. I cant see
the break as it is covered by the pipe wall bracket, i imagine it is a
crack. The pipe is dripping a drop once every 10 secs and is in the
cellar/basement of my father's house.

How would I do a temporary repair to stop the dripping until the lead
piping system is replaced?

Thanks for your help inadvance
regards
anthony

A bucket. You might find a piece of string can be used to encourage the
water away from the wall into the bucket.

Christian.
