Default Laser Measuring device

Where can I buy a good Ultrasonic/ laser measuring unit? Perhaps
something that can work out areas/volumes? Dont want to spend too much.

Maplin are doing one (N36AQ)for £14.99 reduced from £29.99 - don't know how
good but at £15 meets your requirements for 'Don't want to spend too much'.

There are no good ultrasonic measuring devices. The Fein one (from
Axminster, £25) is OK for "estate agent" work, such as decorators doing
price-ups. But the cheap ones are truly awful (especially the Stanley)
and non are good for anything better than that.

Laser measures are £200+ and need to be accurately level to read the
right distance, not the slant.
