Default SDS Drill recommendations?

Hi

I'm currently looking at:

BOSCH GBH2-22RE

BOSCH GBH2-26DRE

MAKITA HR2450 (does anyone know what the difference is between the X and the
T model?)

I currently have an 850watt (non SDS) Bosch. But I've found it has trouble
getting through some of the walls in my flat.

I had some new windows put in recently and asked one of the guys if he could
finish off a few holes for me with his SDS drill. Even though it ran on
110v and looked much smaller than mine it went into my walls like a hot
knife through butter! How come?

I used to think my 850w Bosch was the dogs hairy bits but I now know it
aint! But I don't understand what it is about the SDS drills that have them
do a much better job. Surely its not just the drill bits?

Thanks

Rob
