Default off subject, dictionary???

I don't know, I may have spelled the word wrong,
but that IS the problem. I am looking for a dictionary
program for my cpu. I know I could look in 'the book', but
I am looking for a easier way. My wife has one, out in the
living room for people to see, and it is big and heavy, I just
want something 'here', that is easy to use. I have been going
to MWebster web site, but I am on a 'dial up' and it is slow, so
I have been looking for 'something'. I thought I found what I
was looking for at the computer show a while back,,,, it was
kids,,, "a for apple type stuff'. I would like a program that is
the same in volume as my wife's ''big book'', but now comes
the hard part,,,,,,, free. Would anyone know of a animal
"outthere" like that??????? Yes, if I have to, I would
consider paying,,,,,ouch!
Thanks in advance, I know this is 'off subject', and if
someone 'slaps my hand', I will not do it again,, but ''this
group '' has proven to be most helpful in the past", and I
appreciate that. cl 73
