Common knowledge is a long way from well established physics.


You mean long held beliefs in physics, or theory or hypothesis. What
was fact before, is often disproven later.


It was all well known to be total rubbish at the time, except
by conservatives, wingers & fundies.
They are very slow learners indeed.
