Default **** WARNING: Harbor freight coiled PVC air hose

Just wondering, izzit one of those yellow coiled ones about the size of
a tennis ball can which are part of the accessory kit with most cheapo
air compressors?

I've got a couple kicking around, but never bothered to use 'em.

"Real" hoses don't cost all that much...G

What pressure failed it?

I had a poor experience with a HF magnetic base light. The switch lasted
about 9 minutes. Too far to bring it back. $6.95 shot in the a##.

The Goodyear rubber hose they sell is far better-stays flexible, too. Dayco
is another good one...

I have 5 of them in the shop. One blew within the first year. I took
it back, they replaced it. They are all now about 4 yrs old and still
healthy.

YMMV

Do not bother.

About 100-110 PSI.

50' coiled air hose????????????

Blink blink...Gods blood but that will make a royal rats ass
....brrrr...

Btw...the HF regular air hoses are mostly made by Goodyear. I have
several of the orange ones and they are just fine. Except for the one
left out in the sun for the last 4 yrs. Its starting to crack the
surface layer.

Hmmmm. Iv'e used many of the HF 1/4" coiled hoses over the years. Only
failure I had was from flexing around the nipples, from extensive use.

I have always felt that most of HF stuff is for display only or for filling
empty shelves and drawers. You kind of get what you pay for. The good stuff
they have is no deal, but HF would go broke without the import margins and
they supply that which is in demand...crap!!! (I remember what Gunner said
about their wire brushes)

Why, what is the warranty period, 5 minutes?

aaah, steve - the socket in those lights can be changed in about 5 minutes,
just buy a replacement for $1.99 (at least that's what my local hardware
store, OSH, charged) and change it. the magnetic base is fine, it's just a
crummy switch (and yes, all the ones I bought failed but even with another
$2 for a switch, the price is right

What a doofus. You go to a cheapo store. You buy a cheapo air hose made
out of hard plastic. You pay $1.99 for a 500' piece. It breaks. And you
are surprised.

What a doofus. Yes, HF sells a lof of ****. Hellooooooooooooo. Tell me.
Is it tough being a genius?

Not if you kept the receipt, it isn't too late. Take it back and
ask for another one.

Now if it was in service for 6 months or a year and used hard and it
blew, you might not get a replacement or refund on it. But judging
from my past experiences they're pretty good at covering stuff that
fails 'out of the box' or soon after.

I don't go to Harbor Fright for professional-grade tools, I go there
for stuff that won't get used heavily, and price is more important
than quality. I have two 4" angle grinders, one DeWalt, one HF, just
to save changing between wire wheel and grinding disc. If the HF one
dies on me mid-job, it isn't a catastrophe.

Yeah, but they also sell a lot of stuff that's well worth the money.
The problem is telling which is which. A lot of us (most?) do not have
a HF store nearby and cannot personally inspect the stuff. For us, it
is USEFUL to know when some particular thing is crap. Please do not

5 minutes, or 5000 miles, whichever comes first.

Well, then, along that line, I bought a pencil from HF, and it broke. Watch
out for the crappy pencils they sell at HF.
