aaah, steve - the socket in those lights can be changed in about 5 minutes,
just buy a replacement for $1.99 (at least that's what my local hardware
store, OSH, charged) and change it. the magnetic base is fine, it's just a
crummy switch (and yes, all the ones I bought failed but even with another
$2 for a switch, the price is right

I had a poor experience with a HF magnetic base light. The switch lasted
about 9 minutes. Too far to bring it back. $6.95 shot in the a##.
