Pretty full featured and half the price of the Kindle 3 But I *cannot find any reviews except those from obvious associates of the manufacturer. Anyone have one of these? Im looking for a decent e-reader, for as little as I can spend. Anyone have any alternate suggestions, or have a reader that you have outgrown? I have some 20-30 gigabytes of *ebooks and *can convert from one format to another via Calibri (program) but most are in the ready to read Mobi/Epub/PDF formats. While viewing movies would be nice..its not a requirement for me. Virtually all have an mp3 player so thats not an issue. Having a removable memory slit (memory card) would be a very nice thing, but not a requirement. I spend a great deal of time on the road, and while I have various e-readers on my computers/laptops..having something simple and easy to take out and turn on, would be a marvelous thing. Any suggestions/ideas/offers would be appreciated Gunner -- One could not be a successful Leftwinger without realizing that, in contrast to the popular conception supported by newspapers and mothers of Leftwingers, a goodly number of Leftwingers are not only narrow-minded and dull, but also just stupid. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Gunner Asch I own one - paid $78 Australian for it 2 weeks ago. Its fine for reading simple text or ebooks. It's frustratingly slow for reading large hi-definition pdfs (ie magazines). It takes up to 20 seconds to load some large pdf pages, although this is proably asking a bit much from an ereader. Movies with any degree of definition play very slowly *and tend to be jumpy. Photos / images display fine. For use as a straight forward ereader I think its good value. The one downside is that when it is being charged you cannot use it. hth Thanks! *I was hoping to find an actual user. *It seemed pretty powerful as an ebook reader and supported a good range of formats All I am looking for is something to read standard e-books while waiting for a machine to fail, or while Im sitting in my truck eating dinner, etc etc. Its supposed to have an FM radio in it as well? Thats a first for any ebook reader Ive heard about. For movies and whatnot..Ive got a decent Sony laptop with a Tether for the internet, so its not a big issue if it doesnt play well. Much obliged for the review! Mine was black. I bought it to be able to pull up technical PDfs at the shop. It sucked. I paid $35 for mine, and felt damned lucky to sell it on Cl for that. It was REAL slow, and the screen shape did not fit normal documents. If you are reading novels it may be OK. for anything else, save your money. Refurbed Nooks and kindles are $10 more. |

I now have a Kindle Touch that a very kindly reader offered to me for future trades and have been puttering with it since I got home last night. Its been rather interesting to convert a few of my many many gigs of Epub books into other formats that Kindle will read. Thanks guys!
