Any idea what was *in* that bottle? Certainly not just sealed
with air being heated. Yes, it might develop enough pressure to blow
the bottle, but certainly not that much pressure.

Perhaps an oxygen-acetylene mix?

Enjoy,
DoN.

I assumed it as water. Because the bottle was sealed tightly the water
super heated and when the bottle broke the water flashed to steam.

Too low an order explosion and no fireball.

Steam, pure and simple

At the original site http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9Gn0auLFUA,
the guy writes: "Bottle had about 900ml of water in it, estimated
burst temperature ~225 deg C, estimated energy release 500kJ
(equivalent to 1/4 stick of dynamite)".

There was a propane bottle on the floor behind, but a few tablesppons
of water COULD produce a dangerouse amount od steem - with a serious
"flash steem" explosion.
