Lots of boys on the water, on the rig, and in the salt mine dodged a huge
bullet that day. One of the damnest thing I have ever seen.

That's similar to the Knox Mine Disaster when the miners worked
upwards and hit the Susquehanna River, which filled the mine. There
are interesting films of the whirlpool and train cars being dumped in
to try to plug the hole that are shown on local TV occasionally.
