Default And now, the rest of the story

Thomas Jefferson wrote the following text, but only one line has been made
famous and put on T shirts. The rest is highly relevant and shows the
context of the snippet and the timelessness of our genius forefather's
foresight into the affairs of the nation they fought and died to create.

"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion.
The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is
wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts
they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions,
it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ...
And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not
warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of
resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as
to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost
in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from
time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It is its natural manure."

End of quote.

I wish to see some of this natural manure. And very soon. It's time for a
rebellion, or we all will either perish or become slaves to the ruling
class.

Millions are losing jobs. Millions are losing their homes. Millions are
losing health care in a nation where free health care is available only to
aliens. In a nation where citizens are treated like lower caste members.
Let the nutjobs come to the front and start the rebellion like they are
doing, and like I have stated in the past. Some little farmer from Ohio who
has lost everything and is dying from cancer and can't be saved is going to
change the path of the nation.

Mark my words.

Here's to hoping that when the Great Cull (which is being breathlessly

light off a global race war, too. Nobody wants that.

There better not be a great cull, there is no reason. The experiment has
failed and almost everybody knows it. Sure the leftists will wail and gnash
their teeth but they are in such a small minority they don't matter. The
rest of the country anxiously awaits for November third, a new optimism will
burst forth and the country can get back to work. It's been proven once
again that Socialism doesn't work and doesn't sit well with 98% of
Americans. Somebody should document that fact so the country doesn't have
to go through this again when memory dulls and the leftists try it again.
What IS wrong with them?

How? That's the concern. "Throwing the bums out" is only the
first of many steps. Then comes the removal of onerous laws, onerous
regulations, onerous taxes. Each of which will have a vocal support
group who are going to wail loudly about the approaching apocalypse if
their special little item is no longer funded/administered/regulated
by the Federal Government. The argument has been made for decades
that X is only a small amount, pennies per person. Which is true, but
that doesn't mean that those pennies do not add up to "real
Money(tm)". A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon you're
talking real money. (Only when Senator Dirksen said that, it was
"million")
With a complicit media considering Joe Lieberman to be a right
winger, you know that every line in the Federal Registry is going to
be presented as vital to the Health of the Nation, to National
Security.
If the newly elected House and the new Senate attempts "politics
as usual" - there is likely to be a rejection of the electoral method
of accomplishing change, and some who will figure that the only means
of achieving change is going to be direct application, as distasteful
as it might be. Revolutionary violence actually tends to occur when
things begin to improve, or are expected to improve, but are not
improving "quickly enough". It is when men begin to believe that they
can cross the chasm between where they are, and where they could be
with a violent application of force, (or they believe that violence is
their only alternative) that violence is probable. Attica Prison, The
American/French and Russian revolutions, the various civil wars of the

Hope and Change. All to often, the "children" feel that they are
the first to discover that the world is not fair, and that Something
Must be Done. They do not know that Something Has Been Done, and that
solution was even worse than the previous problem. But when they have
not examined history, but only the proper perspective on history,

It's a deep hole, and it only stops when we stop digging. That is still
going on in earnest. I don't think we will get out of this one, but I'm not
concerned because the end is on my event horizon before social, political or
moral stability is.

The politics of "gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme."

I fear that the backlash will result in the election of a whole
pack of theocratic, anti-choice war addicts.

My fantasy, of course, is that the Libertarians finally make a
showing.

They used to say, "would you rather be hung or shot?" Nowadays,
it's "would you rather be boiled in oil or flayed alive?"

Does the phrase "If at first you don't succeed, try, try
again" ring any bells?

One of the major problems is that while "socialism," (with a
small s) has proven to be very workable in certain
countries, primarily Scandinavia, their
socio-economic/political conditions and environments [and
hence view of the world] are entirely different from those
of the United States. Some marked differences are
population homogeneity, high education levels, and absence
of a permanent underclass.

IMNSHO -- because these are *HIGHLY* politically incorrect
topics to broach, these are the elephants and gorillas in
the room, the policy makers on both political wings ignore,
with the result there is no common/majority U.S. view of the
world and thus no possibility of a majority consensus,
although a selected minority "reality" is indeed imposed
from time to time.

Operationally, Uncle Sam is a manic-depressive
schizophrenic, with increasingly frequent lapses into
paranoia and sociopathy. John Carroll appears to be 100%
correct when he observes that most of the current U.S.
problems have little to do with economics, finance or
technology, but are almost entirely driven by "mental
health" concerns, e.g. denial and projection.

Pay attention to the last sentence....

http://www.laissez-fairerepublic.com/Sweden.htm

The Future That Didn't Work

Among those countries afflicted with the more advanced stages of
welfare statism are Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden --
especially Sweden. In the past, Sweden has been held up by some as the
model mixed economy -- how to combine a vigorous capitalist industrial
base with a lavish social welfare system. It was even touted as "market
socialism" -- a future that seemed to work. Not any more. The negative
consequences of decades of the heavy welfare state burden can no longer
be postponed. The May 24, 1993 issue of FORBES reported on Sweden's
welfare state ("The Swedish Disease") -- and the condition it has left
that country.

"The Clinton Administration's liberals who are pushing for more
taxes, a bigger welfare state, bigger labor unions, currency devaluation
and an industrial policy should take note: The Swedish model is doing
abysmally.

"Sweden's industrial production has plunged 15 percent since 1989.
The jobless rate is 12% and rising. The budget deficit accounts for a
third of the central government's spending and 13% of the country's GDP
(compared with 5% in the U.S.). The currency is sinking even faster than
the dollar."

What is Sweden's problem? "The Swedish model is Sweden's problem,"
observes Ian Wachtmeister, a former aluminum company executive who heads
the recently formed, market-oriented New Democracy Party, and who was
elected to the Swedish parliament in 1991.

"People are sick of the Big Brother-type of state. It's all
connected with what's happening in Eastern Europe, because they had 100%
socialism and we had 70%," reports Wachtmeister.

"Sweden's welfare state has all but destroyed the country's work
ethic. The absentee rate in Swedish industry reached an astounding 25%
several years ago before recent welfare cutbacks encouraged people to
work more. Many companies used to overstaff themselves by 25% just to
make sure that they had enough workers on the production line."

When the Swedish welfare system was at its peak a few years ago, the
national health care system tended to encourage people to become sick.
According to the statistics, Sweden was the sickest society on earth at
that time. LIke anything else, when medical care is "free", an
increasing number of people find ways to take advantage of it. Sweden's
national health care system became a national scandal.

As Forbes points out, by becoming every Swede's rich grandfather,
the state has destroyed most peoples' incentive to save. According to
Sweden's current Finance Minister, Anne Wibble, "Most households in our
country do not have any private savings, and that means they are not
independent of either employers or or politicians."

Meanwhile, another hangover from Sweden's socialistic welfare binge
is that some of the world's highest taxes on capital and income have
driven Swedish entrepreneurs to less hostile environments in continental
Europe and America. The productive private sector began to shrink at an
accelerated rate. Three years ago Swedish banks collapsed, real estate
prices plunged fifty percent, and the government's budget deficit
exploded. The semi-capitalistic goose that had been laying the golden
eggs had finally keeled over. Sweden was in a hell of a mess. A
Soviet-style economic collapse was eminent.

"In 1991 Carl Bildt's conservative coalition was elected to clean up
the socialists' mess. Like some ancient hero of Norse legend, Carl Bildt
has been swinging a mighty ax to clear away the tangles of the welfare
state. Government expenditure has been cut by $11 billion (80 billion
kronor, equal to 6% of GDP). Welfare payments have been cut. Inflation
has been tamed to an underlying rate of 2%. A voucher system had been
introduced in the public school system. Capital gains taxes are 30%. The
top marginal tax rates on income are still 50% -- high, but that's a big
improvement over the 85% of the recent past."

But, will it be too little too late to turn Sweden around? Many of
Bildt's more ambitious reforms and privatization attempts have been
stalled partly by political opposition from the old-line reactionary
Social Democrats who held power for so long and brought Sweden to its
crisis situation.

The Forbe's article concludes with the following: "Sweden may or may
not recover fully from its socialistic experimentation. But this isn't
just a story about Sweden. It's about any country where politicians
believe in the infinite ability of the private sector to fund an
ambitious social agenda, be it through high taxes, mandates, regulations
or other forms of state interventions.

"The New Democracy Party's Wachtmeister worries that Sweden's
experience with market socialism has been lost on many of the liberals
in the Clinton Administration. The key lesson, as Sweden is now finding,
is that once in place this kind of socialism is very hard to dislodge."

"Right now I'd rather be in Sweden than in the U.S., because we have
seen the problems and are moving away from the welfare state," says
Wachtmeister. "On your side, you are moving right into it, and you risk
destroying your country."

I am the Sword of my Family

burn everything you love,

There is a big difference between a socio-economic system
that works tolerably well for the large majority of its
citizens and one that makes everybody happy. Remember that
even the Garden of Eden had a snake...

My point is that even if a more socialist/nanny state can be
made to work [and work well] for certain countries under
certain conditions, those conditions do not exist [and most
likely will never exist] in the U.S. Specifically: (1)
highly homogeneous population, with common language and
weltanschauung/zeitgeist [vital for reaching consensus and
trust]; (2) high (or at least adequate) levels of education,
literacy and numeracy for the large majority of the
population; and (3) absence of a significant, and
particularly growing/multigenerational, permanent under
class.

Another very significant difference is the size of the
populations, and relative lack of delusions of grandeur and
exceptionalism, that frequently result in foreign
interventions/adventures, with huge wastes of blood and
treasure and/or financial bubbles.

FWIW -- Iceland had hallucinations that it was a global
economic power and is now paying the price.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008%E2...nancial_crisis
The citizens of Iceland, having far more say in how the
country is run than the citizens do in many of the larger
nations, refused to allow their government to bail-out the
banks and their foreign creditors, with tax money.
http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Europ...repayment-plan

For those that were confused by the term "Scandinavia," this
commonly refers to the northern European countries of
Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and most English speakers include
Finland and Iceland in this grouping. Another common
identifier for this group is the Nordic Countries.

There better not be a great cull, there is no reason. The experiment has
failed and almost everybody knows it. Sure the leftists will wail and gnash

burst forth and the country can get back to work. It's been proven once

They're ****ed because trying to move the country ahead and to make it
better is made so very difficult by people like you, Tea Partiers, and
the rest of the right wing. If it weren't for people like you we
wouldn't have had the disaster that we got the last time the right wing
was running things. Now we try to move forward and all we get is road
blocks from your side. So first you nearly destroy us with the Bush

No, not really. It's just like the quote from Harry Truman when someone
said to him he should give the republicans Hell. He said all I do is
tell the truth and they think it's Hell. That's all I do. I tell the
truth and you think you're in Hell. And I don't need any help from
anywhere else. It all comes straight from me.

No worries there IMHO... Word has it that his "short list" for VP picks was
down to Biden and Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind., former Ind. governor). Why do you
suppose Obama picked the obvious buffoon Biden instead of the *vastly* better
qualified Bayh? Two words: life insurance.

they misconceive.

It's time for
a
rebellion, or we all will either perish or become slaves to the ruling
class.

Millions are losing jobs. Millions are losing their homes. Millions are
losing health care in a nation where free health care is available only
to
aliens. In a nation where citizens are treated like lower caste members.
Let the nutjobs come to the front and start the rebellion like they are
doing, and like I have stated in the past. Some little farmer from Ohio
who
has lost everything and is dying from cancer and can't be saved is going
to
change the path of the nation.

Mark my words.

Here's to hoping that when the Great Cull (which is being breathlessly
waited for) starts, it is NOT with our commandeering chief. That would
light off a global race war, too. Nobody wants that.

The issue is not that Obabamassiah is black..he isnt. He is 50% white,
44% middle easter and only 6% black.

The issue is that he is 97% Marxist.

What's the other 3%? Narcissist? That's way more than 3%.

Most Marxists are narcissist. Its part of their nature.

As an aside,
what he describes here is not what some of the RWNJs are drooling
over, the mythic 'great cull' (which will never happen, IMO).

So hordes of lawless nut jobs are going to start roaming the US

Yes, Dave. You are right. The rest of the world is wrong. Terms like
"drive by shooting" that didn't exist twenty years ago are now known to a
five year old. This old world is moving fast, and apparently some of you
old ****ers aren't able to keep up.

Grab your ass, pard. The ride has only begun. Or get the **** out of the
way. Or stand there and be run over.

Who would have thought twenty years ago that today there would be one cell
phone for every two people on the planet?

Only those with a brain capable of accepting anything new that wasn't
already ossified into its present form of grey and white matter.

Change or die.

But then, you know it all, so what's the use of telling you anything?

I wasn't aware the rest of the world was drooling over an opportunity

Anyway, I think you are assuming my skepticism of a great cull aimed
at citizens means I do not agree with the driving forces in the

One should notice that at one time, South Africa was very very
civilized. Then..the communists happened....and things went wryly to
****.

Same with Germany and a myrid number of other countries.

Germany was very very civilized in 1930....and had a very long history
of being civilized. Vienna...culture, literature, inventors..and
then...bad things happened.

So Dave..you are claiming that Bad Things cant happen in America?

I'll buy American when the American products are better and cheaper, and
that won't happen as long as the Liberal/Union cabal is in charge.

Sorry, Ed, but America no longer even _produces_ many of the tools one
can purchase from HF.

We have to free ourselves of the speaking weasels (and people who use
them) which have caused this mess in our legal, medical, educational,
penal, and unionized industrial systems. This will likely take more
than ten minutes.

them) which have caused this mess in our legal, medical, educational,
penal, and unionized industrial systems. This will likely take more
than ten minutes.

A bit of a problem. You can buy an automobile made in the USA for
35,000 dollars or one made in India for 7,000. Are you really, really
going to buy the US product?

By the way, blaming it all on the lower pay scales in foreign
countries is not really the answer. Try looking, for example, on why
the identical medicine is cheaper in Canada then in the US, and maybe
you will realize that the high costs of doing business in the U.S is
what is causing the problem.

Cheers,
