Have you bothered to calculate the pressure drop in a mile long pipe
with a flow rate of 100K barrels a day? You need to put some numbers
on things before saying stuff like " will have approx. equal pressure
on both sides ".

What I never understood is why the two containment boxes didn't have a
pumping station
built in. If they could have kept the discharge at the same pressure on
the way up the
pipe the hydrate issue could have been avoided.
