Not so. Some federal installations, such as Ft Hood, have ceded
law-enforcement control to the local authorities. The fed and the locals
have overlapping jurisdiction, but it is the local "Barney Fife" who
responds to reports of criminal activity on the base.




Ft. Hood's police force is under DOD. They are civilians and work the
gates and patrol, just as MP, AP , etc. used to do. Edwards AFB,
where I had to go to get my new ID card when I turned 65, is the same.
