yes, I plan to go, I don't know what day - probably spend 4 hours or so
rushing through it to get an idea of what's going on (and maybe find some
hints on how to make those old car hood hinges) - also ENCO is there and in
the past they've offered free shipping for anything bought at the show - a
couple of years ago I bought a surface plate on sale - that was a great
bargain, particularly with free shipping.

there were several chinese suppliers, an Indian supplier or two, so if you
wanted cheap stuff there was some. Aloris was there, HAAS, SPI, Mitutoyo,
all the usual suspects. A nice selection of 3-D printers (they are getting
almost affordable), a very cool $2500 setup that can scan/form a point cloud
and then mill a small object (price includes a scanner and a small mill),
Flow was showing their HP cutting technology - no longer cutting out
motorcycles, several really nice EDM machines, a great demo of ceramic
inserts and ultra high SFM. But Enco and MSC were absent, as was H Hip,
and a few of the other low end suppliers. Several companies offering Laser
Radar measuring systems (very cool), and so on. Westec isn't the best place
to get bargains, though Travers was handing out 15% discount coupons and US
tool had some heavy discounts too - Westec is where you go to figure out
what you want and what you want but will never have. Oh, and there was a
way cool, and affordable USB microscope by Big C technology - very cool.

and I don't ever remember seeing Bridgeport there even in prior years,
though it might have been.

--RE Stereolith machines: www.makezine.com has a kit to build your
own for maybe $800.-. It can produce something about the size of a coffee
cup. Also there's reprap.org's open-source machine that can reproduce about
half of its own components.

I was there Wed, from about 11am-4pm...saw a few folks Ive done
business with, chatted with some friends, backtracked to some displays
that had caught my attention the 1st time around...had lunch...

Ive been going to Westec since 1995..this was the smallest show Ive
ever seen.

Some nice stuff, with damned few people who actually plan on buying
any of it.

Making sure other people play nice and dont kill each other (and us)
off in job lots is hardly empire building, particularly when you give
them self determination under "play nice" rules.

Poor dont hate anyone . Mid East are NOT haters .

C.I.A. assasinated all Irags leaders , to get at the Petroleum .

We now have that oil .

Isreal is paid 8-10 billion to assasinate the rag heads .

But nature is coming . Magically , the world will use far less
oil in the next few years .

The US is wasting oil , but has none , so must steal it . But thats
icebergs tip , the US needs more than petrol'

It needs huge sums to pay the payroll .

No one is buying anything made in US factories , thus factory closings

in 2010 thru 2016 . We buy made in China/Japan/Korea .

Their factories are making $$ , ours are store fronts ,

Its all Liberal ( aka Communist , aka Luddite ) .

All the conservative industrialists , producers were

pulled out of US by zero tax in offshore English banks .

While US taxed these industrialists 80% , England offered 0% , on
Cap Gains .

( while Swiss banks taxed them 35% ! ! )

All the best Industrialists are GONE , not one remains .

Thats why we allow Jap car factories in US , cause we have not ONE
engineer

capable of engineering a car .

Theres a depression coming . It will stop the US et al , from
wasting oil .

There will be no cars nor trucks on this earth by 2020 . Electric
trains and ships

will be the only transport . No airplanes .

No factory jobs for anyone . F' will be manned by owner , his
sons , and

ROBOT's ONLY . The competition will force humans out of all
factories .

All land with little water will be abandoned . All cities with high
overhead will

be ghost towns . Tucson AZ .

Northern cities with big rivers to gen' electric and provide
drinking water ,

will cost a fortune , only rich will live there ..

Depression is to reduce the 6 billion poor . in 50 years , pop
will be below

1 billion .

Democracy is how govt takes value from the wealthy .

Govt pays for poor votes , to raise taxes on wealthy .

Wealthy run out . Now who do we tax ?

Middleclass sellouts ? With their govt jobs ?

Thats musical chairs , cause they get a tax voucher , so raise

their taxes , you get "write-offs" ....

122,000 employees in the I.R.S. , but not one penny in

tax revenues , for the 'give-backs" , write-offs" and tax vouchers ..

Kill your milk cow , eat meat for a week ....

US unemployed will reach 30 % by 2011 ,

factories close in 2010-2013

banks close in 2015 .

dollar will die in 2016 .

bloodiest revolt ever , in 2018 .

Americans shooting Americans

All caused by DEMOCRACY and TAXATION .
