There's a short story. Usually when I go to the Steel Store, they have
DRUMS of stainless. I know the people after dealing with them a long time,
and they are not very particular about small rems. I thought I'd be able to
get a cubic foot of them. But, they had just had them picked up before
Thanksgiving. The guy found a rem on the floor and sliced it into about a
dozen pieces, and it would have cost to get a bigger piece chopped up. I
have to go there again soon to get some stair rail components. Lemme know
if those will work for you, and next time I'll try to get more.

Sure thing!

I'm probably proving a certain lack of sanity here, but I always wanted
to learn how to handle square sails.

Maybe this winter I can get the parts made and give it a try come spring!?!

Like I said, play with them and learn. Stainless is a horse of another
color. If you need particular pieces, sizes, or shapes, let me know. They
MUST be able to fit in a flat rate Priority Mail box to be cost effective.
Max weight is 70#, and when the barrels are full, it's not a problem to pick
up that much.

I'm going to make a water feature out of flat pieces of scrap granite. They
will be held up with simple "I" shaped pieces of stainless, for the
corrosion resistance, strength, and appearance. I am going back to Vegas
Wednesday, and will be there a few days. Let me hear from you, and I'll try
to score some more.

I'd actually like to get a small tig, even a Miller Thunderbolt, and so some
sculpture. Trouble is, without a laser or plasma cutter, forming is a bear.
So, it would be a sculpture of remnant flat pieces of all kinds. Still
think I could come up with some neat stuff, then run a small water pump to
play some water on it, with lighting from below. Or fiber optics, which
would disappear when wet.
