Whoever wanted that 24VDC, 500W power supply
For the person with a salvaged wheelchair...
See http://igor.chudov.com/tmp/eagle-picher-power-supply/ Seems to be a 500 watt, 24VDC nominal power supply. Seems to produce 25 volts actual. Has a 25 amp output breaker. It is actually very light and seems to be a switchmode power supply, without a big beefy transformer. It is actually a UPS, if you insert batteries there, it would be able to maintain power even if AC power is lost, but it happily produces DC power without batteries, on AC. It seems to work, I only measured voltage. It has a very nice aluminum case. i |

Igor:
Thanks for your response. At first blush, this looks like a trickle charger. I don't know enough about it to say if it would work an on demand power source for a 400 watt, 24v dc motor. Maybe someone with knowledge about these things here on RCM can give their opinion if it would work for that purpose. What think? -Mike |

Yes, that's an AC UPS, not a DC power supply. The chargers
typically maintain a float voltage and trickle-charge the batteries. This one is designed to go on-line when the power drops out, and the batteries supply all the current. The rest of the time it's just passing on AC from the line and generating enough DC to charge the batteries and operate the logic circuits. mlcorson wrote: Igor: Thanks for your response.
