New stuff at NEMES and "Just when you think"
New pictures on the NEMES web site ( www.neme-s.org ) are pictures from Rollie Gauchers open house, the Yankee Steam Up at the New England Wireless and Steam Museum and the CT Antique Machinery Show. Also, in the realm of "just when you think you have seen everything" take a look at this page on the Colorado Model Engineering Society site. http://www.metal-club.org/john%27s_project.html Scroll down to the sharpening jig for small drills. Thanks for the links, Errol - I noticed that this is also a *wireless* museum - are there many vintage radio items on display also? Thanks - Jim Jim: I should have included a link to the museum on the web page. http://users.ids.net/~newsm/Wireless/Massie/massie.html Takes you to the page about the wireliss part of the musuem. I you are thinking of making a trip to visit them I think that a call ahead would be a good idea. It is a small operation and I don't have any idea of what their hours are so a call to Bob Merriam, the Director, would be a good idea. The items on display in the Wireless building are fasinating but since I have about zero knowledge of radio "stuff" I can't describe it for you. I had thought that I had some pictures from previous Steam Ups on the NEMES web site but maybe in the switch over from our old web hosting service to the new they got lost in the shuffle. I will look and see if they are still on my hard drvie. If they are I will repost them on the web site and let you know about it. Errol Groff Instructor, Machine Tool Department H.H. I should have included a link to the museum on the web page. http://users.ids.net/~newsm/Wireless/Massie/massie.html Thank you! Because my brother lives in Concord, and I'm familiar with the 128 area, there's a good chance I might want to visit both the mechanical and electrical aspects of the museum in the near future. I'll call ahead before hand. I was very favorably inpressed with the CAMA fall festival, I had no idea they had so many fixed displays as well. I recently also purchased a book published by the New England Wireless Association folks, and was very impressed by that as well. It would be a treat to see that stuff first hand.
