Default carbon brushes.

HELLO,
I am looking for brushes to fit a 9.6v hand drill.
No luck finding a supplier here in the uk.
It is one of the cheaper types with years of life in the motor
batteries are good. It would be a shame to bin for the want of
carbons.
Thanks,
Cutty.

I have heard of a specialist brush company called Electrocarbon Ltd in
Birmingham. I've never used them myself and don't have the phone number,
but our local motor rewinder told me they keep many brushes in stock,
and those they don't have can be made at reasonable cost. Try searching
for "Electrocarbon" in Birmingham at Yell.com.

Yell.com doesn't produce any results. This is the company you want:
http://www.businessmagnet.co.uk/comp...arbon-2451.htm

Their website isn't working, which isn't a good sign, but try giving
them a call.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
My local hardware store has a drawer dedicated to assorted carbon brushes of
various sizes. That your sample, and buy a pair that's close, and file them
down.

There's an electric motor place in Horley, just outside Gatwick. I
can't remember what they're called but I drive past them on the way to
work so can note down the details if you are interested...

Try a hobby shop that caters to RC car enthusiasts. Many of the motors
are made by Mabuchi and the car guys have all sorts of parts available.
