bolt question
I am looking for a 3/8"-16 bolt about 1/2" long with a smaller than normal
(9/16") head. I think they are called flange head or something like that. Also it has to be stainless. I check mcmaster but can't find one. Thanks |

Might try http://www.boltdepot.com/ You might have to mill the head to
size. "habbi" wrote in message ... I am looking for a 3/8"-16 bolt about 1/2" long with a smaller than normal (9/16") head. I think they are called flange head or something like that. Also it has to be stainless. I check mcmaster but can't find one. Thanks |

I think that you are describing automotive header bolts. They are used to
affix tubular headers to engines and have a 7/16" head and a flange. I'm not sure about stainless but they have chrome. http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...cgrfnbr=162371 These should be available at any auto parts store. lg no neat sig line "habbi" wrote in message ... that sounds like the bolt that holds the trim tab on a OMC outboard, they
are more than 1/2 long but that can be taken care of with a dremel and a cut off wheel. how many do you need? "habbi" wrote in message ... I will look at them. I am going to make a gearcase drain plug that is not
prone to stripping. The one in my 250 Johnson has a 5/32" allen head.
