When I first heard of daul-pane windows, years ago, I just assumed that the two panes were
fused together, as in glass blocks. But now I'm beginning to doubt that. Are any dual-pane windows built that way? -- croy |

Google is your friend; you'll get higher quality information than you will from a politics-ridden cesspool on usenet. https://www.weathershield.com/News/W...e-Windows-Work |

Live overseas for a few years, you'll see what can be done when energy prices are high (27 cents a kWhr for us at the time, vs 4 cents in Virginia then)
Windows were triple paned, yes, but they didn't just fit into a square hole.. The edges of the window frame had three steps that meshed with the jamb. Doors were the same way. Plaster over masonry meant zero infiltration. Some of the homes the Germans built for the Army were designed with no heating system, it wasn't needed. And our house in Germany was at the latitude of Maine. |
