OT: Impeachment highlights
Those Democrats sure did a good job of proving their case, putting
forth a grand slam. Some of my favorites: Tracing that New Mexico county commissioner who formed some cowboys for Trump group. They showed that Trump spoke with him for 30 mins on the phone and had pictures taken with him. Last spring, that skunk made a Youtube video where he said that the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat. Trump re-tweeted it. (Then the Trumpets get all mad about "censorship" when Youtube boots people like that. ) The skunk was arrested Jan 6, part of the insurrection inside the Capitol. He's on video after that, saying they are not done, a 2nd amendment event is coming and there will be blood pouring down the steps. They made it clear that Trump cultivated scum like this, the Proud Boys, that he said there were very fine people among the crowd at the Charlottesville that killed that young woman, a rally organized by white supremacists and attended by the KKK, Nazis, David Duke, etc. They showed the Proud Boys communicating their pleasure that Trump had asked them to stand by at the debate. They knew he was speaking to them, wanted their continued support and help. They showed many people inside the Capitol saying they were doing it because that's what Trump wanted them to do. They showed the mob actively talking about finding and killing Pence, Pelosi, etc. They showed many self-posted videos from people before the insurrection, where they said they were Trump supporters, doing what he wanted them to do. They showed that when after hours Trump finally told them to stop and go home, that message was heard and acted on inside the Capitol. A guy is seen yelling to the mob that Trump said they should leave now, that they had won. And that is when they did leave. They established that Trump already had been informed that Pence narrowly escaped, that the Capitol was under siege and shortly after Trump tweeted another attack on Pence. They showed how long it took before Trump put out anything at all and then while calling for an end to violence, Trump also praised the mob, calling them patriots, saying he loved them. After it was all over, Trump put out another statement, basically saying that what happened is what you get for a stolen election. And I absolutely loved the question submitted by Collins and Murkowski. They asked for Trump's lawyers to tell us exactly when Trump first learned that the Capitol was under attack and what he did from then on and to be as specific as possible. The lameo lawyer started by talking about something in December, then something in Jan before the attack, yammering away. He finally said, we don't know that, because the House Democrats didn't investigate it thoroughly. That's right, his client is the president and that was his answer. Clearly he knows the truth and it's very, very damning for Trump. If the truth was Trump heard about it and acted to end it, he would have put that forth, in detail. I see today there is now talk about calling witnesses like Kevin McCarthy, Senator Tommy T and those that were with them that day when they talked to Trump. People in Congress who were there say that McCarthy told them that when he talked to Trump, with the Capitol under siege and asked him to get them to stop, Trump first said that he could not because they are Antifa. When McCarthy told Trump that they were his supporters, Trump said "well I guess they're more upset about the election than you". And that's totally believable because it fits with all the other facts, with what Trump did and didn't do, what he finally said, including his message after the attack had been ended where he said "that's what you get with a stolen election". Whether McCarthy would have the guts to tell the truth if called, that's another question. He already went down to Mar a Lago just a week after the attack to pay homage and participate in the rebuilding of Trump. So the GOP is at an inflection point. They could finally come to their senses, admit what Trump has done, what the whole world saw, get together and convict him with most Republicans voting to convict. Give him the boot. Break free and start the recovery process. Or they can continue to follow him down the toilet, believing that they need him, that he will help them, that they can get him to do what they want. How's that been working so far? WH, House and Senate lost. Even Georgia, a red state, delivered a message to these dopes, defeating both GOP senate candidates in what was a do over of the Trump defeat in that state. With help like that, turning a red state blue, who needs enemies? |

And don't forget the "Defence Team" - I need to quote a Great British statesman : ' Never in the field of legal conflict has so little been done by so many for so few. " John T. |
