OT Suspending Parliament
OT
"4. Boris Johnson has dragged the queen into the fight over Brexit. After the U.K. prime minister asked Queen Elizabeth II last month to suspend Parliament, a Scottish court ruled that he had abused his power by misleading her with his rationale. Above, the two met at Buckingham Palace in July." NYTimes If she has no discretion, if she's a rubber stamp, how can it matter that/if Johnson misled her? How can she be dragged in if she has no discretion. This isn't the US press making this up. It's the Scottish court. |
