Just looked that place up and it is a ways inland. I have a friend that
had a place in Emerald Island and may still have retired nearby.

Also noted on Google Earth an icon giving current position of the hurricane.

Just looked up that old friend and classmate and he retired to a
different part of Emerald Island and reports are no electricity for
maybe a week and several places damaged and uninhabitable.

I'm recently familiar with a couple in Florence, SC. They BBQ and post
videos on YouTube. Nice people. Hope they are okay since last week.
About a month ago they did a complete rip-out for a new kitchen.

We have a friend in Myrtle Beach and she came through fine without any
loss of electricity. We all know a lot of folks that live at shore points.

Must have been nearly 30 years since I saw my classmate. At that time
he had a place up on stilts on the sound side but had another lot he was
building on and best I can tell he is not on stilts.

One of these days we are going to get blasted in DE. If hurricane Sandy
had made her left turn up the bay 15 minutes sooner it would have been
us and not NJ.
