Here is a short, but outstanding speech, by Senator Tammy Duckworth,
who lost both of her legs in the Iraq War. http://tinyurl.com/y8k7douy Bravo Senator! Your sentiments are echoed by hundreds of millions of patriotic Americans! -- Truth Sounds Like Hate To Those Who Hate The Truth |

I could barely walk but I was deemed A-1. It had healed ok by the time I was drafted though. |

I could barely walk but I was deemed A-1. It had healed ok by the time I was drafted though. How is it that all of the fake patriots who voted for him cannot see this simple fact? And the disgusting hypocrisy, the despicable gall of Trump, was highlighted at the very beginning of the campaign, when he said McCain is no war hero! Here's a real hero, a guy who flew two dozen combat missions over North Vietnam off a carrier, who was shot down, injured, tortured, held captive for years. He served in the war that Trump dodged. And the draft dodger says McCain is no hero? And then he went on to say that he "prefers" the vets who were not captured, another despicable insult against all POWs. The sad thing is that my Republican Party, the party of Ike and Reagan, would have rejected Trump, denounced him, at that point. That is what I fully expected to happen when I saw Trump say those despicable things. Instead, this new bunch selected him as their candidate, rejecting 16 other decent, qualified candidates. Go figure. I still would not be surprised to see Trump finally say something so nuts, so despicable, so terrible, that it finally leads to his demise. Maybe Ommarosa has him on tape. |

So shooting your toe off didn't do any good, you still got drafted. Doctor removed a stubborn cyst. He gave me just enough anesthetic to get out of his office. I broke out into a cold sweat on the bus and to my amazement two aspirin was all I needed to stop the pain. Now days you'd get a bottle of narcotics. BTW: There was a guy in my Basic Training unit that was missing the tip of his trigger finger. (It was a legit farm accident, he was not trying to beat the draft.) They just said; Use your next finger. |

I have to say I was surprised Trump won after what he said about McCain. Not just that he won, but that there was virtually no blowback from the remarks about McCain and POWs, not even any short term damage. And as always, Trump refused to man up and apologize. That's apparently the new Republican Party, it's sure not what I want to be affiliated with, supporting and enabling. There are plenty of other things Trump has said and done, but that one is the most defining, one of the worst, one that you'd think would make Republicans vomit, but here we are. |

I am sure you mean there was no blowback from Trump supporters, the great immoral unwashed of the United States. There was massive blowback from the majority of the nation. -- Truth Sounds Like Hate To Those Who Hate The Truth |
