No, no and No. A stock does not change, alter or in anyway "modify" the "mechanical" parts of the lower receiver. Bump stocks ONLY changes how fast gases are released and how fast the bolt returns for firing. That isn't my understanding. The bump stocks I've see have extensions that run from the stock to the trigger area and serve to push the shooters finger back and forth as the gun recoils. The effect is to move the shooter's finger mechanically, back and forth, substantially faster than a shooter could do on their own. If a similar mechanism was placed inside the gun mechanism itself, so that it automatically fired again after each shot, what would you call it? It's a similar process and for a similar reason to full auto, to make the gun fire faster than you can by pulling the trigger without assistance. Fer cripes sake. Nothing for the original weapons design changed except the stock, There are no forensics the shooter altered the mechanics of the bolt, firing pin or any other damn thing. He bought a legal stock. Didn't even put a full auto lower in exchange of a semi auto lower. Next you will be telling us how to throw grenades. Fer cripes sake, read what i wrote. Where did I say anything other than the stock changed? I was questioning your claim that it only changes how fast the gases are released and how fast the bolt returns. The pics I;ve seen, like the one I cited, show the stock has an extension to the trigger area. You pull your finger back against that extension, keep it there and then the recoil re-fires the gun automatically. You're not manually moving your trigger finger anymore. Gee, isn't that how full auto works, you keep your finger pulled back, the gun fires automatically? Different mechanics, but the same intention, to make the gun re-fire continuously. |
