![]() I am finishing the basement. There are 12 half inch spaces in both of my main panels (both are 200A). I plan to use all the spaces for circuit - or maybe leave one 1 slot. Is there any danger, or code vilation, to do that? |

this may be so simple im missing it...
if the panel came with 12 'slots' you can put 12 slots worth of breakers in there. if you have to modify it to put more breakers in, bad bad bad. whether or not you are overloading your panel is another story... randy "spamfree" wrote in message ... Actually, I believe most boxes have listed the maximum allowable number of branch circuits allowable on their label these days, as well as the breaker type and the manufacturer's name that must be used in order to insure safety....... Some other manufacturer's brand breakers / styles might seem to fit fine, but would be unsafe and perhaps even burn up, damaging the buss tabs otherwise--this especially important if using those double breakers designed to pull 2 110v circuits from a single stab......the "Challenger" brand of panels seem to be notorious for this occuring..... Suggest he should look at the label, and see for sure, really--generally if it's a 12 circuit panel this means 12 breakers max are allowed, each double throw breaker counting as 2........ -- SVL |
