I came across a fascinating website about Russia. If you like to see the world and if you loved National Geographic like I did when I was a kid, you'll like the pictures of far off places. ヽ(ヅ)ノ

Perce No but I respect anyone's faith until they give me a reason not to. My Southerner father was a lapsed Methodist and my mother was of Italian decent and a Roman Catholic so me and my sibling were tortured by nuns at the Catholic parochial gulag until my parents could no longer afford the tuition. We were then sent to government schools to be surrounded by a bunch of nasty heathens. Here in Alabamastan, I'm considered an evil heretic because I don't care about football which is the state religion. Right now, I'm torn between a couple of religions which are somewhat attractive to me. It's so hard to choose one of them. _(ツ)_/¯ http://www.venganza.org/ http://www.universe-people.com/english/default_en.htm [8~{} Uncle Faithful Monster |

Perce Hi Perce, I consider my self Eastern Orthodox. I have never been welcomed into a church as there are medical and distance reasons blocking me from attending. So I am not formally Orthodox. But since I believe in the Nicaean Creed, believe the Orthodox church is the church founded by Christ on the faith of his apostles, I have a personal relationship with Christ and one of his saints (who chose me), I am anyway. His church, I believe in him, I am Orthodox. I even try to keep the fast, although do to the Diabetes, I have to keep the non-food part of it (I don't do so well at it). I follow Saint John Chrysostom's teaching on the fast. Being chrismated is on my bucket list. I listen to Ancient Faith radio a lot. http://www.ancientfaith.com/ I love their podcasts and music. Sometimes the chant can be a bit hard to take, but it is for the love of Christ anyway. The Russians sure can sing! Glory be to God! -T |

I hope that you will soon be able to be received "officially" into the Orthodox Church. Perce (my UseNet alias) |

After finding the Orthodox Church, I had the overwhelming feeling that I was finally "home". Antioch: "And it came about that for an entire year they met with the church, and taught considerable numbers; and the disciples were first called Christians at Antioch." (Acts 11:23-26). I do love hearing that every time I read it! It won't be too long before we greet each other with "God is with us!" In the mean time, I have to bite my tongue. I would be easier just to fast. -T Orthodox: Christian only harder! |

They are all loaded with hypocrites and are mostly interested in the donations, IMO, it is how you live your life, not going to a specific building one day a week that defines you. Catholic school did give me a good education. To their detriment they taught me to be a critical thinker and make up my own mind. |

At the age of six, I decided all grownups were full of crap. The mistake I made was letting the nuns know my opinion of them. After six decades, my opinion of adults hasn't changed that much. ヽ(ヅ)ノ [8~{} Uncle Crappy Monster |
