Default Hydraulic Toilet Hoist

Someone I know works at a Nursing Home. She was explaining that they
have a very overweight resident who has trouble getting on and off the
toilet, so they have to use the Hydraulic Toilet Hoist to place and
remove this person from the toilet. At first I thought she was joking,
but she said it's not a joke, they have and use devices like this.

I'm was trying to picture this hoist, when I entered "Hydraulic Toilet
Hoist" into google.

I found this.....

Geezzzzz, I'd like one of these just for a conversation piece !!!

(Makes taking a **** FUN).....

I bet it works too slowly to make real fun.

Probably, but I'd be inclined to modify it so it tosses people off the
toilet, and across the bathroom.... LOL.

How do you clean it...a fire hose and a floor drain?

There sure are a lot of nooks and crannies to hold all sorts of nasties.

Makes the job an uplifting experience.

I should be in marketing.

You could also sell bed and wheelchair lifts.

In the nursing home, there are battery powered patient lifts that look like engine hoists. there is a sling/harness that the patient is rolled into while on his/her bed and it cradles them as they dangle from the arm of the lift. I had to laugh and tell the CNA's that it looked like The Stork was delivering a baby. The young women had no clue as to what I was talking about.. o_O

I admit it, he set me off. My wife being a nurse and we being on the
ambulance know the effects.

It's not just fat people. There are people so old or so ill, they
cannot lift or pull themselves up from a seated position. Assists like
this make it easier on the patient and caretaker. As long as they can
still somehow use the toilet, they don't have to use diapers or bedpans.

They make assisted lift chairs, too. A coworker put a pair in her
elderly parents' livingroom, before they eventually became so feeble
they had to go to a nursing home.

Those chairs are a real blessing. My wife and I know of several people who are able to live alone because they have that type of chair to really relax/nap in, rather than having to go to bed when they are tired and then struggle to get up again to eat or whatever..
