On a police roadside check, why do they look under the bonnet?
They just kinda glance around while the engine's running (that's once
the silly bugger found my bonnet release - I joked around with his
colleague about his mechanical abilities while the 1st pig became rather irritable).

For example, what red-blooded American would refer to the hood of an auto as
a "bonnet"? My god, I'm so ****ing ashamed!
