I have a big old Nextel phone laying around somewhere and I loved it until Nextel cut me off after they screwed up my bill so bad that I laid the useless phone aside. Nextel lost a lot of customers because of incompetent customer service and billing. Not only do I still use a fax machine but a lot of businesses and institutions still do such as my pharmacy. I've carried a pager since the mid 1970's and I like it because people can punch in a number or leave me a voicemail. I don't turn on my cellphone until I wish to make a call. What I think is a good thing about a pager is that it's receive only and I can't be tracked by the people in black helicopters. 8-)

A faxed signed document has the legal status of an original, while an
emailed copy, to this date, does not. Hense faxes are still used for
legal documents, mefical perscriptions, etc which would otherwize be
much better served by email.

Where is that? Canada? Not in the USA:

There are some exceptions, but for a typical contract, it can be
transmitted, signed, electronically without faxing. As for presciptions,
my doctor sends them electronically to the pharmacy of my choice.

My doctor sends prescriptions to my pharmacy through the clinic computer system via The Internet. I've scanned prescriptions and Emailed them to my Pharmacist so the prescriptions can be filled then I take the paper prescription to the pharmacy when I pick it up. 8-)

I don't know about the legal status, but I have sent legal documments by fax
from home where the the people handling my IRA would not take it by email.
That was about 6 months ago.

I knew about The Navajo Code Talkers who served during WWII in The Pacific but I didn't realize that a number of different Native American Tribesmen lent their unique languages to the military during the world wars for secret communications. I learn more history every day. 8-]

It's so funny to me that Negro Americans and Caucasian Americans think of themselves as a pure race and I laugh so hard when they do an ancestry search then discover that they're actually mutts including some Native American ancestors. I can look at the Negroes in this area and tell the African Negroes from the American Negroes simply by their appearance. There are a lot of "REAL" Africans here in Birmingham, Alabamastan. They come here from all over Africa and the great majority of the REAL Africans I'm acquainted with are very decent people. We also have gambling casinos here in Alabamastan that are on Indian reservations/land where my Southern Baptist cousins have no control over what goes on. Now there is a budget shortfall in the state and politicians who were once anti-gambling are suggesting that the state have a lottery. The politics here in my home state is very entertaining much like a TV comedy. o_O

Well I use mirror, smoke makes me cry, LOL!
I still use Morse code every day on the air.
Now it can be generated and read by a computer.
You don't swing the bug or paddle, just type.
I can't do well on brass pounder key, arm/wrist get
tired quick.

Very common occurrence up here in Canada - so I have to fax it from

A faxed signed document has the legal status of an original, while an
emailed copy, to this date, does not. Hense faxes are still used for
legal documents, mefical perscriptions, etc which would otherwize be
much better served by email.

Where is that? Canada? Not in the USA:

There are some exceptions, but for a typical contract, it can be
transmitted, signed, electronically without faxing. As for presciptions,
my doctor sends them electronically to the pharmacy of my choice.

I don't know about the legal status, but I have sent legal documments by fax
from home where the the people handling my IRA would not take it by email.
That was about 6 months ago.

Very common occurrence up here in Canada - so I have to fax it from
client's office since I gave up on faxes about 10 years ago.

There are fax modems for computers. You can buy a USB version for use with your modern computer and scanner. I know, I have one. 8-]

Bah. You fellers need to learn Apache smoke signals.

Many ways we can communicate

I knew about The Navajo Code Talkers who served during WWII in The Pacific but I didn't realize that a number of different Native American Tribesmen lent their unique languages to the military during the world wars for secret communications. I learn more history every day. 8-]

Where you come from is former Cherokee territory.

Andrew Jackson is disliked. I'd call it a "communication breakdown".

The politics here in my home state is very entertaining much like a TV comedy. o_O

I understand. I know, being a Swamp Billy myself.

Look back at some old maps (AL, GA & FL)- it was Creek, Cherokee and
some mixed injuns tossed in. The Navajo, out West still resent Kit
Carson for waging Indian wars.

A Cherokee Chief later regretted not killing Andrew Jackson at their
first meeting.
