The box did not indent her skirt on either side. It's been reported by multiple news organizations, I see no indication that it's fake. GUAPILES, COSTA RICA (CANAL OIJ/CNN) - Surveillance video caught a woman putting a box with a TV inside under her skirt and walking out of a store. Police in Costa Rica need help catching the TV thief, who made off with the electronic about two months ago. The video captured one woman apparently keeping watch while the other quickly flipped up her full skirt and tucked a boxed television between her legs. The woman somehow walks off camera in a normal looking manner, and was not caught. The two suspects are still on the loose. |

Fat people tend to wear baggy clothes, which are ideal for stuffing merchandise into, and being fat, it's harder to notice they've padded out even more. Women with kids are notorious for thieving - they either have their kids do the stealing, or they blame their kids for doing it if/when they get caught. Plus, the strollers and baby seats are great for stashing merchandise. |

I recall the owner of the seed company I worked for instructed us to follow black customers around. I refused to do it, because as a teen I'd been followed around in so many stores by clerks who just took it for granted that teenager = shoplifter, which ****ed me off mightily. Ironically, the owner and his family were practiced thieves themselves, falsely collecting disability, worker's comp, and unemployment while working at their business. Also, they were cheating on their taxes big time, and I was there when their accountant burst into the store yelling that the IRS had seized the books and they (including him) were all in big trouble. It made my day. |

It might **** you off, but I have no problem with such profiling. It's simple math. It's established that blacks commit crime at several times the rate of whites. So, if I had a store, that's where I'd be looking more too. Not necessarily following them physically, but I'd have my security people on camera watching them a bit more. You want to reduce losses, you focus where the most likely thefts are. |

Women with kids are notorious for thieving - they either have their kids do the stealing, or they blame their kids for doing it if/when they get caught. Plus, the strollers and baby seats are great for stashing merchandise. Got me thinking of a local story happened yesterday. A woman robbed a Bellefonte-area convenience store at gunpoint Tuesday, while leaving her 1-year-old daughter and an acquaintance in a waiting taxi, state police said. Amanda Paoletti, 29, of Wilmington, was arrested after police tracked down the taxi and its driver – unaware that her quick stop at a Wawa was an armed robbery – gave police the address where she was dropped off afterward, Sgt. Richard D. Bratz said. The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at a Wawa in the 700 block of Philadelphia Pike, Bratz said. Paoletti, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, pointed a handgun at a 19-year-old woman at the counter, demanded cash and was given an undisclosed amount from the register, he said. The employee told police she fled in a dark-colored boxy-style minivan cab, headed south on Philadelphia Pike toward Wilmington, he said. Troopers went to the Wilmington train station, located the cab and talked to its driver, he said. They also learned Paoletti had left her baby and an acquaintance in the cab during the armed robbery, Bratz said. When troopers went to the address in the 100 block of Ashton St. where the cab dropped them, they learned the acquaintance, who owns the house where she lives, had no knowledge of what she was doing, Bratz said. A search found Paoletti was in possession of an undisclosed amount of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, he said. She was charged with first-degree robbery, endangering the welfare of a child, cocaine possession and drug paraphernalia possession. Paoletti was committed to Baylor Women's Correctional Institution near New Castle after failing to post $8,000 secured bail. |

It made my day. I watched one day seeing three fat black women flim-flam a drug store clerk making change. I was in line with them and hadn't figured it out until the third one did it. I told the clerk and they went after them and it was comical watching the three black rear ends run for the door, hop in a car and escape. |

It's the first thing that cashiers should be trained to watch out for, along with till dips. I lived/worked in an overwhelmingly white area, so nearly all of our crooks were white. Don't give me the bull**** that black people account for the majority of the crime. The majority of white people who get caught have community status and/or connections that come into play, meaning it's oh so easy to persuade the cops, the DA, and the judge (assuming it gets that far) that it was all a misunderstanding or a one-time impulsive act. Yeah, right. |

He then drove off, but a mile or two down the highway, his truck quit running. He made it up an exit ramp and called for a cab. He then transferred most of the stolen goods from his truck to the cab, and had the cabbie take him home. In the meantime, a neighbor had noticed the guy loading his truck with stuff from the garage, and had called the cops with the license and description. The cops were waiting for the burglar at his own house when he pulled up in the cab full of my cousin's property. |
