Default RedMax Outdoor Equipment: Who Are They, etc. ?

Hi,

Live outside of Boston.

Lots of ads lately for outdoor equipment of most every type from a
manufacturer called RedMax.

First time I ever recall seeing or hearing anything about any RedMax
outdoor equipment. Ads all over the place now around here for their
products.

Frankly, have never head of them.

Who are they ?

Been around for a while ?
Good "stuff" ?

Thoughts on ?

Bob

Why Choose RedMax

We care about the environment, and work hard to ensure that our
products reduce impact on the environment.
http://www.redmax.com/company/

Notice they don't say "..because we are economical, durable and
reliable.."

And here's some more quoted from the same blurb

"Our technological improvements to two-cycle engine design and fabrication
ensure reliability, performance, and power while reducing emissions and fuel
consumption.

We offer commercial quality tools that last and back them up with great
warranties and service. "

Since you saw fit to only quote part of their ad , I figgered it's only
fair someone else quoted the rest , so people aren't misled ... did you even
read the whole ad , or did you just latch onto the first phrase that met
your agenda ?

I've had a RedMax backpack blower for a really long time.
I suspect 20 years or more.

Still works like new.

I bought it at an outlet that mostly sold to professionals.

The following (below) is from a 2008 catalog. The last entry in the
time-line is 2007, and for some reason it doesn't include the creation
or formation of the RedMax brand.

April 2007:
Name changed to Zenoah America Inc.;
Zenoah becomes part of Husqvarna AB - Sweden group

According to a yelp.ca entry:

They are the best commercial weedeaters and blowers I've ever
used. I bought a brand new one this morning. My first one was
a mid-size weedeater... it lasted me 12 years before I retired it
last year. The second one, I purchased 8 years ago, and it still
runs very well, tho it takes a few pulls on the cord to get it going.
Keep in mind tho, that is 8 years of commercial use and it's never
been 'down' for anything. I've maybe put two plugs in it over
the years. While searching for a mower part this morning, the sales
guy saw me eyeballing them (new weedeaters) and offered to knock
20 bucks off one. Tho that doesn't sound like much, I'm aware the
profit margin isn't much, so I bought it. I had one of their handheld
blowers stolen off of my truck a few years back. They left the older
Stihl blower, which I still use today. The RedMax was considerably
stronger than the Stihl blower. I've been mowing commercially for
30 years... been thru Stihls, Husqvarnas, Echo, Weed Eater and
Green Machine. RedMax beats them all.
This is the one I purchased today for $369 -
