Default Four Year Old€™s Very First Job

Here's a truly heartwarming story about the bond formed between a
little four year old girl and some construction workers that will make
you believe that we all can make a difference when we give a child the
gift of our time.

A young family moved into a house next to a vacant lot. One day, a
construction crew showed up to start building a house on the empty lot.
The young family's 4-year-old daughter naturally took an interest in all
the activity going on next door and spent much of each day observing the
workers.

Eventually the construction crew, all of them "gems-in-the-rough," more
or less, adopted her as their project mascot. They chatted with her,
let her sit with them while they had coffee and lunch breaks, and gave
her 20 little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important.

At the end of the first week, they presented her with a pay envelope
containing ten dollars. The little girl took this home to her mother
who suggested that she take her ten dollars "pay" she'd received to the
bank the next day to start a savings account.

When the girl and her mom got to the bank, the teller was equally
impressed and asked the little girl how she had come by her very own pay
check at such a young age. The little girl proudly replied, "I worked
last week with a real construction crew building a new house next door
to us." "Oh my goodness gracious," said the teller, "and will you be
working on the house again this week, too?"

The little girl replied, "I will, if those assholes at Home Depot ever
deliver the ****in' drywall..."

Kind of brings a tear to your eye.

My father was an MP sergeant during WWII and my first grade teacher,
Sister Godzilla, crucified me for repeating the words of my father. I
had no idea what the words meant until I was older and that I didn't
yell while using them. I think Dad even received royalties for cuss
words he invented that are still in use by The Army to this day. ^_^

Yes, this is priceless.

The variation is the little boy who comes home from
watching the construction site, and he's now speaking
with salty language. Father extends his pocket knife,
and tells the boy to "go out and cut me a switch...."
(switch, in this usage, is a green branch, suitable
for spanking a boy). Boy replies FU, that's the
electrician's job.

The other variation, the little girl gets back from a
ride with Gramma. Gramma asks if it's any different
from riding with Grampa. "Yes, we didn't see an
asshole, ****head, or f'ing slowpoke any where."

I've got to get a better selection of jokes, my Bishop
would not be pleased.

If a boy repeats words he heard, not knowing what
they mean, is it a sin?

Weak point of the post - a real constuction crew does not order drywall
from the Borg.

I know that so many people here say, "A real whatever does not buy
from HD, Lowe's, etc.," so why do I keep seeing trucks belonging to
construction companies, plumbers, electricians, etc., in their parking lots?

More important, what about all the insurance and liability issues in
allowing a child on a construction site.

The big box stores have a dedicated commercial checkout and service area
for contractors. It must be consumers posing as contractors who
use those registers. ^_^

This reminds me of the two guys who were poker dealers at a Las Vegas
casino. After a few years, one was sick of it and he moved to Omaha
and bought a funeral parlor. A few months later, his friend came to
visit.

"How are things going?" he asked his friend. "Not well, I have barely
any business, I'm losing money, and I'm about to go broke."

"But what about those four bodies you showed me in your back room?"

"Three of them are shills."

Same thing with those trucks in the parking lots. They're painted
with realistic names that coulld belong to contractors, but they're
shills, all owned by HD and Lowes. Stake one out and see who gets
into it at the end of the day, one fo the managers.

More important, what about all the insurance and liability issues in
allowing a child on a construction site.

They ate at the edge of the site so they could talk to the little girl

No, they do not.

A bunch of jabronis with pickups, tools and jeans does not automatically
define a real construction crew.

Jo Broni goes to local vehicle tatoo place and has JB Construction put on
truck. JB goes to the Borg, parks and buys ****.

Yes there are places with a few workers that do true quality
construction. The ones like this don't have any tatoos on their vehicles.
Don't need them.

What you don't see in the Borg lots is the local construction companies -
the ones that build developments, redo a commercial bldg to go from an
auto shop to a bakery, add a floor on to a business.

Since you clearly know more than everyone else and also know about all

must be in error. My sincere apologies to a superior wisdom.

gift of our time.

A young family moved into a house next to a vacant lot. One day, a
construction crew showed up to start building a house on the empty
lot. The young family's 4-year-old daughter naturally took an
interest in all the activity going on next door and spent much of
each day observing the workers.

Eventually the construction crew, all of them "gems-in-the-rough,"
more or less, adopted her as their project mascot. They chatted with
her, let her sit with them while they had coffee and lunch breaks,
and gave her 20 little jobs to do here and there to make her feel
important.

At the end of the first week, they presented her with a pay envelope
containing ten dollars. The little girl took this home to her mother
who suggested that she take her ten dollars "pay" she'd received to
the bank the next day to start a savings account.

When the girl and her mom got to the bank, the teller was equally
impressed and asked the little girl how she had come by her very own
pay check at such a young age. The little girl proudly replied, "I
worked last week with a real construction crew building a new house
next door to us." "Oh my goodness gracious," said the teller, "and
will you be working on the house again this week, too?"

The little girl replied, "I will, if those assholes at Home Depot
ever deliver the ****in' drywall..."

Kind of brings a tear to your eye.

Weak point of the post - a real constuction crew does not order
drywall from the Borg.

They most certainly do.

Of course they do.

No, they do not.

A bunch of jabronis with pickups, tools and jeans does not automatically
define a real construction crew.

What a maroon!

Since you clearly know more than everyone else and also know about all
constructions crews everywhere, my personal knowledge to the contrary
must be in error. My sincere apologies to a superior wisdom.

R.G. is an asshole. No need to apologize.

I always apologize to assholes. Otherwise, it degenerates into a ****ing
(****ting?) contest and no one can tell who is who. ;-)
