Oh, the irony...
I'm sure the animal rights activists and the tree huggers will have a
rough time coping with the death of a rare bird caused by the spinning blades of a pollution free wind turbine. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/06...-wind-turbine/ |

The wonderful, compassionate, loving people worked very hard to save the seal's life and restore its health. These nice folks took the cute young seal back to the ocean to release it and bid it a tearful farewell since they had become very attached to the little critter. As they released the seal into the water, the proud saviors waved goodby to their little pal when suddenly, BAM!, they watched in horror as the seal shot out of the water in the jaws of a big killer whale and disappear beneath the waves never to be seen again. That's life. ^_^ TDD |

Oh, the irony...
harryagain used improper usenet message composition style by
unnecessarily full-quoting: Astonishing how many Americans look at the UK press for their news. Still hardly surprising I suppose. It's not surprising, because the operating principles of american news outlets is to report as little bad or demoralizing news as possible. Because americans are children, and children are turned off by bad news, and bad news doesn't help to sell advertising. All to often in the US, the truth hurts - and children have a low tolerance for pain. |

I imagine if I had written "possibly apocryphal" after "STORY" your P.L.L.C.F. sensibilities would not have been so disquieted? I do hope I didn't cause you to throw a temper tantrum possibly hurting yourself or anyone around you so next time I'll check Snopes to find out if any "STORY" I recall, read or see is true or not. Again, I apologize if I causes you any distressed. O_o TDD |

So-called "bad" news is reported all the time, as long as it fits in with the message that the publisher wants to deliver. These days, news is usually tailored to promote the Democrats' platform. Without a doubt, the Democrats would strongly disagree with that opinion. The concept of a "liberal media" is a right wing fantasy. The media is owned almost entirely by a few mega corporations, and they are certainly not liberal. http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/...ral-conspiracy The wacko right can now follow up with their typical smears. |

How many hours of Labor news are broadcast on that liberal media? Way does the liberal media almost never discuss the failings of big business, the downing street memos, the right wing efforts to take away the rights of voters, the incredible right wing redistricting going on all across the nation......... |

In article ,
The Real Bev wrote: Right wing redistricting? Surely you jest. Redistricting makes sure that the districts of the incumbents continue to contain people who vote for the incumbents. Some of them look like amoebas reaching out a pseudopod toward a tasty bowl of votes. Redistricting is just one of the spoils of war, nothing new. I had a state Dem chair tell me in the late 60s, in a moment of unintended clarity, how important the next elections were going to be because they wanted to gerrymander the districts their way instead of gerrymanders them the GOP's. The other interesting thing is that quite a few of the districts will change over the 10 years. -- America is at that awkward stage.
