Default Average american Man Pleads Guilty To Enema Tampering

Your american ways are strange to us Canadians...

========================================

JANUARY 18--A Florida man faces upwards of 10 years in federal prison
after pleading guilty this week to a revolting product tampering scheme
in which he returned used enemas to the CVS pharmacy where he purchased
the items.

Ronald Robinson, 35, entered his guilty plea to a single felony
tampering charge during an appearance Wednesday in U.S. District Court
in Jacksonville. A sentencing date has not been set for Robinson, who
has been jailed since last year.

As detailed by prosecutors in a January 16 court filing, Robinson’s
tampering occurred between April and June 2012 and involved his repeated
purchase of enemas (six to a box) from a CVS in Jacksonville.

After using the enemas, Robinson (seen in the above mug shot) placed
them back into their boxes, resealed the containers, and returned the
products for refunds. The used enemas were then reshelved by CVS workers
and later sold to other customers.

Robinson was collared after a CVS employee became suspicious about the
frequency with which he was returning enema packages. On one occasion,
Robinson told the worker that he had purchased the enemas for his
mother, but “she no longer needed them,” according to a Jacksonville
Sheriff’s Office report. When the worker examined the returned box, he
“observed that all the enemas were used” and that the bottom of the
package had been “re-glued…so that it appeared that it had not been
opened.”

After learning of the tampering, federal agents identified “several
purchasers of the used enemas.” Investigators subsequently identified
“several more purchasers” of the tampered enema boxes. Court filings do
not reveal how many of the CVS customers used the tainted enemas (some
of which were found to contain fecal matter).

A Food and Drug Administration doctor advised federal investigators that
infections and communicable diseases--like HIV, salmonella, and the
hepatitis B and C viruses--could be transmitted via used enemas.
Robinson’s guilty plea includes the acknowledgement that the tampering
was done with “reckless disregard that another person would be placed in
danger of death or bodily injury.”

In addition to a maximum prison term of 10 years, Robinson could face a
$250,000 fine and a probation term of up to three years. A judge could
also order Robinson, who has a lengthy rap sheet, to pay restitution to
his victims.

Hey Bert - how's my NNTP posting host now?

Are you upset because you bought and used one of Ronald Robinson

Hundreds of animals removed from Ohio man's house

CLEVELAND, Ohio | Sat Jan 19, 2013 4:58pm EST

CLEVELAND, Ohio (Reuters) - Humane society members wearing protective
masks removed nearly 300 animals including pigeons, chickens and rabbits
from an Ohio man's reeking house this week.

Most of the animals are expected to survive including some that were
sick, Sheila Marquis, an officer with the Humane Society of Dayton,
Ohio, told Reuters on Saturday.

Workers on Thursday took away 60 pigeons, chickens and roosters from the
house in Huber Heights, a suburb of Dayton. They returned the following
day for 223 animals including 100 pigeons and 30 rabbits.

The sheer number of pigeons, which can carry airborne diseases, created
a health hazard inside the house, Marquis said.

Authorities were tipped off by complaints about a stench coming from the
property.

The animals' owner, who has not been identified, was very cooperative
and knowledgeable about the birds, which included homing pigeons,
Marquis said.

She said she thinks he just got overwhelmed taking care of so many
animals.

"He told us he took some animals from other people and other pigeon
organizations. That's how the cycle happens. He kept getting more birds
and building more cages," Marquis said.

The man will be allowed to keep two dogs and some cats living in the
house.

There was no word on whether he will be charged with animal neglect or
abuse, a misdemeanor for the first offense in Ohio. Huber Heights has a
ban on farm animals but does not limit the number of pets residents can
own.

Man charged in theft of dad's corpse from cemetery

DETROIT (AP) -- A man accused of stealing his father's body from a
Detroit cemetery with the hope of bringing him back to life was charged
Friday and ordered held on a $75,000 bond.

Vincent Bright, 48, whom police say was keeping his father's body in the
basement freezer of his home, was charged with disinterment of a body.
He was arraigned by video from the Wayne County Jail.

"It's an unusual case, it's not something you see every day," Gerald
Karafa, Bright's court-appointed lawyer, told the Detroit Free Press.
Karafa said he had not spoken with his client.

The crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Clarence Bright's body disappeared from a cemetery on Monday morning,
just hours before it was to be buried. Police arrested Bright and
another man the next day after finding them with an empty casket in the
back of their van.

Officers, acting on a tip from other family members, found the corpse in
Vincent Bright's home on the city's east side.

Police Lt. Harold Rochon told The Detroit News that the son was
religious and took the body hoping for it to be miraculously
resurrected. Clarence Bright was 93 years old when he died.

Authorities say no charges have been brought against the other man
because there was insufficient evidence.
