Flood lights that don't flood
"Kurt Ullman" wrote in message m... We have been replacing flood lights in our kitchen with CFLs. THe problem is that they don't flood well and the more CFLs we put in, the more dark and shadowy it becomes. Even though those are supposedly the equivalent to what we had. Any suggestion other than buying a couple cases of incandescents before they go away? (Same for the bathroom where the shadows are making harder for Kay to do her makeup. Interesting. I've found the exact opposite. I use the flood CFLs (equivalent to 75w) and they are MUCH brighter and better in general than the old incandescents in the same fixtures. But...years ago we replaced all the awful, poorly-positioned, can't-be-aimed, recessed "can" lights with track lights. And I have no problem with them taking time to come to "full brightness". I've never experienced that except for one outside flood light, and even then it's only on sub-zero days. CFLs rule! |
